Uber and Lyft set records in annual spending on Washington lobbying


Uber Technologies Inc. and Lyft Inc. spent record amounts on Washington lobbying in 2020, a year in which the ride-hailing companies had the attention of the U.S. Labor Department.

paid out $2.5 million last year, topping its 2019 total of $2.4 million, while Lyft
LYFT,
-0.60%

shelled out $2.2 million vs. $0.9 million a year before, according to disclosures filed this week.
