AEW’s locker room is bustling with talent, and headlines can emerge from anywhere at any time. Unfortunately, this is not a report we ever wanted to make, as Killswitch has encountered a significant medical setback.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that former AEW Trios, Tag Team, and TNT champion Luchasaurus, known as Killswitch, is currently recovering after his fiancée discovered him collapsed on Friday, September 27. As of now, he is still under medical care.
The AEW star was quickly taken to the hospital, where doctors found his blood oxygen levels below 80 percent and diagnosed him with pneumonia in both lungs. It was revealed that he was just days away from suffering permanent lung damage.
In the days since, Killswitch has been on supplemental oxygen and has been advised to expect a recovery period of over a month. His timeline for returning to the ring remains uncertain.
As of this writing, Killswitch’s most recent match in AEW took place during the AEW World Title #1 Contendership Casino Gauntlet at AEW All In 2024. Christian Cage emerged victorious as he defeated Adam Page, Jeff Jarrett, Kazuchika Okada, Kyle O’Reilly, Killswitch, Mark Briscoe, Nigel McGuinness, Orange Cassidy, Ricochet, Roderick Strong, and Zack Sabre Jr. In that match, Killswitch helped Christian Cage win and get his guaranteed title match.
We’re sending out our best to Killswitch from everyone here at Ringside news. Hopefully, he is able to have a breakthrough and get back to perfect health very soon.
